Raynald Colom

Raynald Colom (Barcelona | Paris)

The Frenchman based in Barcelona is considered one of the best trumpet players on the international jazz scene. He is a precursor of the trumpet with flamenco. He has collaborated with big names in Jazz, Pop, Hip hop and Flamenco such as Greg Osby, Nicholas Payton, David Sanchez, Eric Reed, Mulgrew Miller, Al Foster, Jesse Davis, El Piraña, Chano Dominguez, Raimundo Amador, Vanessa Martin and Paco de Lucia. Artists such as Carles Benavent, Luis Salinas, Perico Sambeat, Chicuelo, Duquende or Juan de Juan have collaborated with him for their projects. He also participated in Manu Chao's mythical “Clandestino” tour. He has toured in the USA, Europe and Asia, and has been a part of many big jazz festivals in Europe. He began his violin studies at the age of 4 and switched to trumpet at the age of 8 with Orchestre de Paris soloist André Spelitch. He took private lessons with Roy Hargrove, Clark Terry and Wynton Marsalis. He received a scholarship from Berklee College of Music (Boston) and did his training in New York City.
